Review #133: New Beginnings- Melissa Crowe

Summary: Vaughan and Nicola have survived a vampire turf war, now they face a much greater threat.

“So, when you say you need to go to Egypt and find The Creator. What does that mean exactly?”
After 66 years as a blood drinker, Vaughan makes moves to regain the mortality that was stolen from him.
“It is time for you to show your loyalty to me. I have a task I wish for you to undertake in exchange for what you request.”
He and the seductress Cleopatra embark on a doomed mission to find Clara and take her to Egypt for punishment.
When you make a deal with the devil, there’s sure to be consequences.

I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review.
GAWD! What an ending! It was kind of a cliffhanger, but more of a "WHY DID YOU HAVE TO END THE BOOK LIKE THAT?" Kind of ending lol. I liked this book better than the first book because it flowed much better. Also I could finally feel the connection between Nicola and Vaughan which I couldn't before, and they actually went on dates in this boo not just hanging out at a bar. As I had hoped we do gain more information on Vaughan's past and the pasts of others. Well pretty much on everyone except Nicola, who is really the one that I need info on. But with saying all that I can't wait for book three.
Nicola has grown up a lot since book one. She no longer goes out and eats drunk every chance she gets. I still don't have my answer about why she has daddy issues. I did love that we learn so much about Vaughan's past in this book, even if it was on the darker side of things. These two definitely have an adventure ahead of them with all that went down and I can't wait to join them on that journey.
Book two New Beginnings was even better than book one First Sight. This makes me very hopeful for book three to blow my socks off. And I can't wait to read it by the way :) I would again recommend this series to vampire lovers.

About this author

I started writing in 2009 and have not looked back. I have eight stories in various stages of completion. After receiving too many knock backs to count from agents and publishers, I was ready to give up writing. That was until a friend gave me Switched by Amanda Hocking and said to me "If she can self publish, then why can't you?" So here I am, diving head first into self publishing and not regretting my decision at all. I am not looking to be the next Amanda Hocking, I just want to share my stories with people who will appreciate them.
