Summary: CAPITAL GIRLS by Ella Monroe is the first book in a glitzy, fast-paced, fabulous new young adult series set against the backdrop of Washington, D.C. In it, we meet four young women, best friends forever, who must navigate life as the children of some of the most powerful people in the nation. With that life comes not only awesome vacations, beautiful clothes and A-list parties, but also scandal, heartache, danger and the ever-present paparazzi who seem to have a knack for catching them when they're up to something bad!

Review: I received this book free from Goodreads First Reads in exchange for an honest review.
I love this book cover! It's so colourful and fun. I also really enjoyed the premise of the book and it drew me in right from the get go. I liked how the author incorporated the multiple POV's and also the flashbacks into the story. I got through this novel in a matter of hours and when I was finished I needed more so I went on line and bought book two and three so I can continue the series. Hopefully that happens sooner rather than later lol. Plus the story ended right at a juicy part.
I liked the three main characters and how their lives and how their lives revolved around their dead friend. Everything they did in their lives went back to "What would TAylor think or what would TAylor do?" I must say that I disliked LauraBeth the least, even before anything happened, I just feel like she is super fake. Lettie was the most real character because she wasn't rich and she had to work for everything she had so she didn't just piss it away or not care. I did feel for her because I don't imagine it was easy to always be trying to fit in with her friends and live up to everyone's standards. Jackie was okay, I didn't agree with some of her actions but who knows what will happen now. Whitney is the girl you love to hate. I love her because she creates drama but I hate her because she creates drama, if that makes any sense. Plus I feel like she is being treated both fair and unfairly.
Like I said previously, I will be continuing on with this series sometime hopefully in the near future. I find it a really quick and fun read and I can't wait to see what happens after that bomb was dropped. I would recommend this to those looking for an easy to read contemporary with lots of drama.
