Review #224: Whisper Falls- Elizabeth Langston

Title: Whisper Falls
Author: Elizabeth Langston
Pages: 370
Format: Paperback
Rating: 5/5 Stars
Summary: While training for a mountain bike race, high-school senior Mark Lewis spots a mysterious girl dressed in odd clothing, standing behind a waterfall in the woods near his North Carolina home. When she comments on the strange machine that he rides, he suspects something isn’t right. When Susanna claims to be an indentured servant from 1796, he wonders if she's crazy. Yet he feels compelled to find out more.

Mark enters a ‘long-distance’ relationship with Susanna through the shimmering--and temperamental--barrier of Whisper Falls. Curious about her world, Mark combs through history to learn about the brutal life she's trapped in. But knowledge can be dangerous. Soon he must choose between the risk of changing history or dooming the girl he can't stop thinking about to a lifetime of misery.

Review: I received this book free from Goodreads First reads in exchange for an honest review.
OMG! I absolutely loved this book! I loved everything about it. This story was adorable but sometimes heartbreaking at the same time. I loved the time travel aspect of this novel. The writing was amazing and I easily lost myself in the story.
I loved both of these characters and I liked how they entered each other's lives at the perfect time to help each other with something drastic. I just fell in love with them both and their stories. I'm still hoping they will meet again in another book and book up haha. I also want to know what happens to the sister.
This was a great read and I can't wait to read more by Elizabeth Langston. I would recommend this novel to those who love time travel reads.

  1. So glad you enjoyed it. FWIW, I'm giving away ARCs of the first sequel (and yes, you'll learn more about Phoebe the sister in A Whisper In Time.)
