Review #88: The Curse of Romeo and Juliet- Cyma Rizwaan Khan

Summary: Sid and Nancy meets Romeo & Juliet.
Title: The Curse of Romeo and Juliet
Author: Cyma Rizwaan Khan
Pages: 150
Rating: 4/5 Stars
Review: I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed this modern re-telling of Romeo and Juliet. I feel that Cyma Rizwaan Khan did an awesome job of mixing the modern and classic materials.  She stayed true to the original story but found ways to tie in and make her contributions stand out. It was just beautiful to read., just like the original. I feel that Cyma's version had  more love/ lust in it, which was very fun to read. Plus she included a darker side of the story which I really liked.
I would recommend this book to those who liked the original story but want something more modern and relatable. Also to those who found Shakespeare's version confusing and wanted a story similar that they could understand. Lastly, I would recommend this book to those who just want and awesome read.

About this author

Novelist who dabbles in horror fiction, paranormal subjects and romantic fiction. Amused by witty sarcasm and good writing. Thinks highly of Gus Van Sant, Mark Rothko, Iñárritu, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Ann Rice and Scott Adams. Hopeless romantic and cannot be cured of it regardless of how many bills she has to pay.
