ARC Review #201: Impostor- Susanne Winnacker

Title: Impostor
Author: Susanne Winnacker
Pages: 320
Rating: 4/5 Stars
Summary: Tessa is a Variant with extraordinary abilities. She could be a hero, but all she wants to do is fall in love ...

Tessa is a Variant, able to absorb the DNA of anyone she touches and mimic their appearance. Shunned by her family, she's spent the last two years with the Forces with Extraordinary Abilities, a secret branch of the FBI. There she trains with other Variants, such as long-term crush Alec, who each have their own extraordinary ability.

When a serial killer rocks a small town in Oregon, Tessa is given a mission: she must impersonate Madison, a local teen, to find the killer before he strikes again. Tessa hates everything about being an impostor - the stress, the danger, the deceit - but loves playing the role of a normal girl. As Madison, she finds friends, romance, and the kind of loving family she'd do anything to keep.

Amid action, suspense, and a ticking clock, this super-human comes to a very human conclusion: even a girl who can look like anyone struggles the most with being herself.
Review: I received this ARC free from netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
I was really drawn to this cover from the beginning because it is so beautiful. And then I read the premise and it was a done deal. It sounded so original and exciting. I found Impostor to be a super fun read and also an easy read because I was kept intrigued the whole time. I finished this novel in just a few hours. I also really enjoyed the serial killer aspect to the story. I liked that their were bits of romance sprinkled in, but I did think that it would turn out differently so maybe in the next novel different options will be considered.
Teas was a great character. I loved watching the internal struggle that she goes through while "being" Madison. I feel like she grew a lot and also learned a lot about herself. I'm predicting that her father is the leader of the rebel group. I'm. To sure if I like Alec. I feel like he lead both Tessa and Kate on. But I am excited for hopefully is more Devon!
I really enjoyed this novel and I'm excited to see what's next for this group of special people lol. Plus I want to know if Devon will play a bigger role in the next novel. Also if they will defeat the rebels. I would recommend this novel to those who enjoy paranormal reads with a thrill.
