Blog Tour and Review: The Peasant Queen Series Books 0.5-2- Cheri Chesley

Summary: Dear reader,

This is an epic a love story, but not a happy one. While it is romantic, like Romeo and Juliet it does not have a happily-ever-after conclusion. I caution you on this only because I’d hate for you to be disappointed because the story did not end as you had hoped...So begins the author's note at the beginning of this book. For details on the plot, read on:

In the exciting prequel to The Peasant Queen, Roweena is the crown princess of Norvallen, a tiny kingdom with only one thing of value-the Healer's Grove. The trees in this small section of forest are enchanted, giving a sap that can be mixed into potions or salves to heal almost any wound.

And it's in high demand.

Lucien, the young king of neighboring Demarde, comes to Roweena's father seeking an alliance, but comes away with a marriage contract for young Roweena's hand. Furious and stubborn, this untamed beauty vows he will never conquer her. But the contract purposely gives her time to come to terms with her fate.

Before Lucien can return, Roweena's home is attacked and her parents are murdered. The Healer's Grove is also attacked-burned to the ground. With nothing more than her horse and the clothes on her back, Roweena goes to the only person she knows can help her. Lucien.

Review: I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review. I enjoyed this book a lot because it was a fantasy novel but didn't have any of the usual things that  I normally read about in a fantasy story. I though it was finally without all those so that made me like it better. A lot of stuff happened in the prequel, but everything happened for a reason and added to the book. Cheri Chesley ended the book with a huge cliffhanger so I will definitely continue with this series. One sentence in this boo (I won't say what it was because I don't want to spoil anything)made me believe that there may be more then meets the eye about the big mystery.
I lied watching Roweena grow up over the course of this book. I also liked that she was a little bit of a rebel and didn't conform or change herself for anyone.but the ending confused me and made me question her character. I did like Lucien until he made assumptions and gave up. If I was him I would never have stopped looking and I would have avenged Roweena's families deaths.
This was a great fantasy read and I can't wait to start the next book. I would recommend this book to those who enjoy fantasy novels.

Summary: After running away from home, Krystal is transported to a faraway kingdom where an evil tyrant is bent on taking the crown - and Krystal's hand in marriage. But when she falls in love with the rightful heir to the throne, she must make an impossible choice: sacrifice her one chance at happiness or face the destruction of an entire kingdom.

Review: I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review.
I was sad to learn that this novel had all new characters except for one from the prequel. But besides that, this was a great read. This instalment was more a a fantasy in my opinion because it had fantasy elements, magic and mythical creatures and I am sure that their is more to come. I did really noticed the similarities between these two books: arranged marriages, kidnappings, royalty and best of all just awesomeness. This is a story that you can get lost in and you don't realize your are until the adventure ends. Thankfully, unlike the first book there was no crazy cliffhanger ending.
Krystal is a great heroine. She risks her life to save people that she has never Megan's is willing to sacrifice her freedom and happiness to keep others safe. The villain was a character from the prequel that you would never expect, but I guess they were right, the "madness" is genetic. I really want to find out what happened with the characters in between the two books, in all those skipped years. Where are our old characters? What happened to them and where are they now?
I have.. No NEED to continue this series because I have grown so close to the characters that I must know their fates. I would recommend this novel to fantasy lovers.

Summary: Krystal's peaceful life as queen of Fayterra is shattered when a stranger arrives with a connection to Jareth that threatens to change everything. Soon her loved ones are threatened, her people are under attack, and Krystal must face a devastating loss. As the future becomes bleaker and the mystery continues to unravel, Krystal's enemies will learn just how far she will go to defend the people she loves.

Review: I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review.this is the third novel in The Peasant Queen series and luckily for the reader it continues right where the last book ended. Again I found myself getting lost in the world that Cheri Chesley has created. I loved carrying on with this book and learning what the characters were dealing with. This is an epic fantasy and it left me very curious and wanting much, much more. Plus from that ending I think I will finally get some closure on what happened to the characters from the prequel.
Krystal is still the brave character that she was in the last book but now she has the added support from Jareth. They are a strong power couple and have overcame a lot. I liked meeting the new characters and finding out how some of them fit into the twisted family tree. I'm very excited to revisit old characters that I thought were off the grid in the next book.
I need the next book! I need to know how all of the characters that I have grown so close to end up. I would recommend this epic fantasy series to, of course fantasy readers.

  1. I'm sorry I missed this stop on the 10th, it was a crazy day for me and I'm just getting caught up on the tail end of the tour, but I wanted to THANK YOU so much for your reviews. And, of course, let you know that the final book in the series will be out in Oct or Nov this year.

    Thanks again!
