Review #140: Color Me Pretty- C.M. Stunich

Summary: “I'm living through the ugly.”

I've done it this time. I've really screwed up. I've made a mistake, and I'm afraid that it's going to cost me everything – my family, my career and most importantly, Emmett Sinclair. He saw the beauty inside of me, looked past what I was becoming on the outside, and gave me his trust. Everyone thinks I tried to kill myself; I think I made a mistake. They all say I'm halfway to the grave; I say I've been reborn. Nobody knows what I'm going through, so I'm going to have to fight harder than ever before. The problem is, I no longer know exactly what it is I'm fighting for.
Title: Color Me Pretty
Author: C.M. Stunich
Series: A Duet
Rating: 5/5 Stars
Review: I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed this book a little bit better than book one, well a whole star better lol. I think because Claie is still struggling but she is in a better place, a happier place. C.M. Stunich is such an amazing writer that when you pick up her books you only put it down when you have finished it. This is what happened with Clor Me Pretty, I flew through it and when I finished I was left wanting more. I love that the story contains a darker topic, well two darker topics now, but it still has a silver lining. Also I love that each of C.M.'s books has an underlying message.
I love Claire even more in this novel. I'm glad that she finally realized that what she had been doing was destroying her and that she finally wants to get better or try to. I did like how realistic the story was, there is no cure for anorexia it is a disease that stays with you forever, as evidenced by Claire's "angel/ demon" on her shoulder each telling her something different. I'm glad that Kylie was in the picture too. I fell that without each others support at least one or both of them may not have made it. I found Kylie to be a very intriguing charcater and I wouldn't mind her having a spin off novel ;)
C.M. Hits another one out of the park! This is one of the reasons that she is one of my favourite authors. If you haven't already read this series you need to go grab it, you won't be disappointed. Hopefully we eventually get more of Claire and Emmett's story and like I hinted at Kylie's lol.

About this author

C.M. Stunich was raised under a cover of fog in the area known simply as Eureka, CA. A mysterious place, this strange, arboreal land nursed Caitlin's (yes, that's her name!) desire to write strange fiction novels about wicked monsters, magical trains, and Nemean Lions (Google it!). She currently enjoys drag queens, having too many cats, and tribal bellydance.

Always a fan of the indie scene and 'sticking it to the man,' Ms. Stunich decided to take the road less traveled and forgo the traditional publishing route. You can be assured though that she received several rejections as to ensure her proper place in the world of writers before taking up a friend's offer to start a publishing company. Sarian Royal was born, and Ms. Stunich's books slowly transformed from mere baking chocolate to full blown tortes with hand sculpted fondant flowers.

C.M. is a writer obsessed with delivering the very best and scours her mind on a regular basis to select the most unusual stories for the outside world.

Ms. Stunich can be reached via e-mail or by post and loves to hear from her readers. Ms. Stunich also wrote this biography and has no idea why she decided to refer to herself in the third person.

Happy reading and carpe diem!

Sincerely,

C.M. Stunich
