Summary: Donate Body to Science. Check.
When seventeen-year-old Kaitlyn checked the box, she never suspected she’d have her life–and her body–stolen from her. She awakens one day in a secret laboratory to discover that her body is now half-robot and is forced to hide her own secret: that she still has human emotions and a human mind. If the scientists who made her find out, they’ll erase what remains of who she was.
Kaitlyn finds an unlikely ally in Lucas, a handsome, brilliant scientist who can’t get over the guilt he feels knowing she was once a vibrant, beautiful young woman. He never expected a science project to affect him the way she does. As he tries to help her rediscover her past, he finds himself falling for the brave girl struggling to find her place and acceptance between the human and computer worlds.

Review: I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review. Wow! I friggin loved this book. Everything about it rocks! The cover is gorgeous and it fits the story perfectly. The story itself is amazing. It's just a big ball of perfect. I really liked the whole cyborg idea, I find them very interesting. I also liked the fact that Kate's body was pretty much hijacked in the name of science. And how her memories slowly resurfaced. I loved the romance and friendships and I can't wait to see where they lead and what type of quests Kate gets to go on now.
I really liked Kaitlyn. She was so brave, having to constantly hold back her emotions for fear of being shut down. She also easily faced that her old life was over and she would need to build a new life and use herself for the better of human kind. Lucas was also a great character, he could see past Kate's cyborg side and fall in love with the "person" she is. He hit one speed bump for me but he quickly overcame it and redeemed himself. I can't wait to learn more about this Erik fellow.
This is an awesome start to a new series by Julia Crane. I would recommend this book to young and old readers. I think that most people would love this story as much as I did. I can't wait to carry on the series.
